1. Loire Valley

Region with outstanding natural beauty, the Loire Valley is also affectionately known as the garden of France. The valley stretches over 280 km and is located in center of the country. It is filled with culture, history and architecture that make it an exceptional valley. Known for its large collection of castles straight out of fairy tales and its river which is one of the finest in France, the Loire Valley is a treasure of our country.

2. The Palace of Versailles

The city of Versailles is of course famous for its extraordinary castle. The Palace of Versailles which once housed the kings of France is a jewel of history and architecture and probably one of the most beautiful palace in the world. The perfectly preserved with the French castle gardens offers a glimpse into the lives of French royalty in the 18th century.

3. Giverny

Giverny is located on the border of Normandy and Yvelines and became famous as the birthplace of Impressionism. The village was once home to the country house of Claude Monet. Since his death, the house and gardens so famous and captivating are open to the public. Planted by Monet himself, the water garden (which inspired so many of his famous paintings) has white and purple wisteria, water lilies, weeping willows, bamboo and of course the Japanese green bridge emblematic.

4. Annecy

The French Alps are probably known mostly for their high end ski resorts. But the region is also home to some very interesting cities to visit in summer and winter. The city that stand out the most is Annecy, which is also known as the "Venice of Savoy". The city is built around a 14th century castle and many small canals. With its unique center on a background of snowy mountains, Annecy is probably one of the most photogenic cities in France.

5. Riviera

The French Riviera, with its kilometers of beautiful coastline and its azure waters, is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful places to visit in France. The sun-drenched region offers a thousand facets and allows to satisfy a thousand desires: natural coast or Beach, village or big city, there's something for everyone.

6. Strasbourg

Located on the border of Germany, this city has a rich heritage of characteristics to both countries. Strasbourg is a picturesque town that attracts visitors with its charm out of another era. Famous for its timbered houses, its Gothic cathedral and its evident fondness for flowers, you can also visit the Black Forest or the Rhine in Germany.

7. The Mont Saint Michel

Mont Saint Michel is, after the Eiffel Tower, one of the greatest symbols of France. The site offers visitors the glorious spectacle sitting among sandbanks and powerful tides, Mont Saint Michel stands in the middle of the sea and is recognizable by its Gothic style. Just below the large monastery, is a medieval village with its winding streets, small houses and souvenir shops.

8. The Dordogne

Dordogne, located to the southwest of the country, is an exceptionally beautiful region. The region has great resources such as its roads and rivers winding through the plains, spectacular prehistoric sites (ie caves and gorges) and its charming towns and villages with a rich medieval heritage. Sample the local wines and visit the ancient fortified cities!

9. La Provence

If you head to the Luberon region, located in the heart of the region, you will find the most typical landscapes of rural Provence: beautiful landscapes filled with endless lavender fields, olive groves, rolling vineyards and of ancient villages perched on the hills. Make sure you also include trips to the picturesque villages of Baux -de- Provence and Saint Remy de Provence without forgetting the stunning walled city of Avignon.

10. Champagne-Ardenne

The birthplace of champagne is also one of the most beautiful regions of France. This is not surprising as it is very popular with tourists thanks to its wine route. The area is full of picturesque landscapes, medieval castles and vineyards of sight. Make sure to visit Troyes the capital of the region for its art and its impressive architecture and its famous Reims cathedral and hectares of underground cellars.
